POSITION SUMMARY :
The Director of Center for Learning is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, directing, evaluating, and standardizing structures, programs, and processes that support nursing education. This includes oversight and coordination of licensed and unlicensed nursing orientation, nursing residency program, staff development, competency assessment and validation, student programs and student nurse clinical rotation placements. The Director leads the development and implementation of innovations and action plans to improve nursing education and advance nursing practice at the department and facility levels. The Director champions best practice and evidence-based initiatives and serves as a catalyst for change. As a member of the nursing leadership team, this Director supports professional nursing practice and empowers and supports nurses to continuously improve in the delivery of safe, effective, compassionate, and efficient nursing care in collaboration with all health care disciplines. This position is responsible for participating in the strategic planning for nursing services and the realization of nursing goals. The Director ensures compliance with standards established by professional nursing organizations, national, state, and local regulatory agencies, and institutional policies and procedures. The Director is accountable for supporting professional nursing practice that upholds high standards of integrity and ethical behavior. The Director mentors others, role models professionalism, and participation in activities such as nursing organizations, nursing research, the community, and bodies that shape health care policies and practices. The Director of Center for Learning identifies best practices for patient satisfaction and service excellence initiatives and programs. Ensures that monitoring of patient experience scores has actionable items that leaders can create goals for success.

- Utilizes progressive disciplinary action process to address staff performance and behavior issues in a timely manner.
- Reports practice and conduct issues to regulatory agencies and organizational entities as indicated.
