Maintenance Associate

Title: Maintenance Associate, FT 35

Reports to: Pastor

Location: St. Jude Catholic Church | Sarasota, FL

Classification: Hourly/Nonexempt

Overview

St. Jude Parish is seeking a Maintenance Associate who will be responsible for planning and managing all aspects of maintenance for parish buildings and property.

Job Requirements

• Building maintenance, cleaning, sanitation, ordering of supplies and general upkeep of parish property.
• Performs general maintenance: routine paint, electrical, lighting, plumbing, carpentry repairs, etc. along with preventative maintenance
• Set up for events and meetings
• Manager supplies inventory and submit purchase orders.
• Responds to emergency calls 24 hours a day.
• Responsible for building campus fire and security operations.
• Assist with Memorial Garden burials.
• Any other duties or special projects as assigned by Pastor.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 5-7 years of experience in a similar role
• Plumbing or electric license desired but not required
• Working knowledge of building equipment
• Understanding of safety protocols and disposal of hazardous waste items
• Ability to communicate clearly with vendors, staff, and parishioners
• Valid Florida Drivers License
• Must pass FDLE Level II background check
• Must be available for Emergency On call access.
• Ability to lift approximately 50lbs.without assistance.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, climb continuously.
• Must pass a post offer DOV assigned physical exam.
