Make an impact. Join our growing outpatient clinics, focused on improving the wellbeing of families. We are seeking a mission driven and dedicated Medical Assistant to work with pediatric patients of our health center in Orange, CA.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Improve patient outcomes by outreaching to our patients and their families to get them to return to our office for needed preventative care services such as immunizations and well-child-check appointments.
• Administer Floride Varnish to teeth of pediatric patients during their medical visits.
• Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team that includes, social worker, physicians, nurse practitioners, and physicians.
• St. Jude Neighborhood Health Centers utilizes EPIC for our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
• Grant funded 12-month position.
• Willingness to work one Saturday per month.

Essential Functions (What You Do).
Assist medical providers in providing high quality, efficient and service-oriented patient care by contacting patients via telephone to schedule return visits for needed preventative care, provide families with relevant health information, administer fluoride varnish, enter and track data related to preventative care completion and missed. Schedule patients follow up appointments. Confirm patient's satisfaction with communication and care. Clearly and efficiently document all patient interactions within the medical record. Collect data needed for grant reporting purposes. Serve as back-up medical assistant for direct in-clinic patient care, as needed. Assists with patient registration, referrals, scheduling, and exam room turnover. Upholds all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) and other regulatory compliance and safety requirements. Remain current on all credentialing requirements.
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range: $21.48 - $27.44 per hour

Requirements
Education:
Must have a certificate of completion from an accredited school of training for medical assisting.
License/ Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA approved program.
Experience:
Minimum of 6-months of experience as a Medical Assistant or equivalent.
Preferred:
Community Clinic experience
Experience with Epic EMR
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Required:
Demonstrates the ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish without an
interpreter.
Demonstrates interpersonal/cultural sensitivity and work with a diverse and often
underserved population.
Effective written and verbal communication across all levels of the organization
and with vendors.
Highly organized with strong time management skills, being able to perform
simultaneous tasks, prioritize them effectively and follow through quickly.
Proficiency with EMR systems.
Available to work Saturdays as business needs require.
