Job Goal:
To perform various administrative and secretarial duties necessary to support the goals of a program, department, or division.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of secretarial procedures and of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- High level of verbal/communication skills.
- Excellent administrative, organizational, and keyboarding skills are also required.
- High level of expertise in word processing/spreadsheet programs is essential.
- Must hold a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Must pass a criminal background investigation and drug screen.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform basic office functions including, but not limited to the following:
- Answering large volume of phone calls and inquiries, resolving issues and/or taking messages, screening and routing calls to appropriate supervisors and staff.
- Preparing written materials from drafts, verbal instructions, or on own.
- Maintaining and/or preparing various reports for Central Office and/or School personnel. Some of these reports may be for distribution to federal or state agencies.
- Retrieving and distributing mail to appropriate staff members.
- Sending faxes and copying required materials.
- Assist co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service. Orient new co-workers and actively support teamwork throughout the school system.
- Provide relief for the Receptionist function.
- Provide courteous and prompt service to all internal and external customers including students, parents, co-workers, etc.
- Prioritize and address requests and assignments in a professional manner to develop cooperative relationships and to ensure that student and employee records confidentiality is assured.
- Identify opportunities and recommend methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance. Assist in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

- Possesses physical skills and stamina to perform job responsibilities.
- Work requires occasional standing.
- Must tolerate sustained periods of sitting throughout the day.
- Must tolerate sustained operation of keyboard devices.
- Must tolerate frequent periods of walking.
- Must on occasions lift and carry file boxes, books, manuals, catalogues, files, records, etc.
- Must be able to bend and stoop in performing job duties.
- Must tolerate horizontal, overhead, and low level reaching in performing work activities.
