What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loader/Excavator Operator in Pit position at St. Laurent & Son?
St. Laurent & Son is looking to hire a hard working, ambitious individual to be an equipment operator in our Sabattus Pit.
What does it mean to work at St. Laurent & Son?
-It means job stability. We have been around since 1970, 53 years and counting.
-It means having a set schedule in an industry that usually has no set end time. The pit is open 6:30-5pm in the summer.
-It means you won't ever have to spend the night in a hotel because you will be reporting to the same location everyday.
-It means being able to have a face to face conversation with the owner anytime you want. We do big work, but we are still a family owned company.
The job will require the person to hop back and forth between a loader and an excavator. When in the loader, the person will be interacting with our pit customers (landscapers & homeowners) while loading their trucks with aggregate. This job can be stressful if having someone waiting for you is a stress trigger. At times there will be multiple people waiting to be loaded at the same time. If you view a line as a challenge and compete with yourself on how quickly you can get the truck through, this job will have your competitive side shining. This job can also be a social persons dream because they will build relationships with our repeat customers. A scenario equipment operators working on site projects do not get the pleasure of doing.
Applicants must be 18 years of age, have a clean drivers license, and have 2 years of experience operating equipment. Pay is variable based on experience, and benefits are available after 60 days of employment (Did we mention we have FREE health insurance! Already have insurance? We offer an incentive for you too!).
