We are seeking a highly skilled Business Financial Manager to join our team at ST LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY. This is an on-site position in Canton, N.Y. with the potential for hybrid/remote flexibility.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the Business Office in producing accurate and complete financial reports by applying accounting principles to complete daily, monthly, and yearly accounting tasks.
- This includes preparing, processing and analyzing monthly and year-end accounting entries for assigned areas of responsibility such as auxiliary operations, foreign programs, fixed assets.
- The Staff Accountant will also be responsible for bank reconciliations, reconciling and analyzing general ledger accounts and administering non-student accounts receivable or loans receivable.
- Additionally, the Staff Accountant will provide backup for payroll manager and review agency account balances.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field and 2 years of experience. Working knowledge of general accepted accounting principles is required, as well as Excel proficiency.
