What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at St. Lawrence University?
Primary Responsibilities
To perform work required in the care, maintenance, cleaning, and housekeeping of all University buildings in accordance with established practices and procedures and responds to emergency calls through the campus for various custodial needs. On occasion, as required, perform the primary duties of other A classification personnel as assigned by the management staff. Work is generally confined to smaller units on campus, requiring occasional assistance from and coordination of the efforts of cleaners or student help. Assigns and directs the work of Cleaners, and other university employees doing this type of work and verifies work time.
Schedule: 5:00am – 1:30pm Tuesday- Saturday
Days Off: Sunday and Monday
Summer hours will be flexible between 5am -1:30pm or 7am – 3:30pm shift Monday – Friday

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to meet University requirements to be authorized to drive University vehicles as assigned. Requires lifting a minimum of 45 lbs. Ability to follow verbal and printed instructions. Ability to communicate with and coordinate the work of others. Ability to work with chemicals. Bending, pushing and pulling.

Custodian experience, Cleaning experience
Salary
SEIU Level C: $15.89 to $22.89/hr. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
