Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Kitchen/Custodial Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen/dining environment. This position is essential for ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly, supporting kitchen manager and kitchen staff in delivering high-quality meals while adhering to health and safety standards.
Duties
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils to maintain a hygienic work environment.
- Assist in food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen staff, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by performing custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste.
- Clean and inspect ovens, stove, etc. on a daily basis.
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting any issues or repairs needed within the kitchen area.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow during meal preparation and service times.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to promote a safe working environment.
- Assist when clients/guests enter with tickets for meals and orderly conduct.
- Assist with deliveries/donations including lifting, storage, inventory.
- Other tasks may be added as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in custodial or industrial cleaning is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning practices and equipment is a plus.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing for long periods, lifting, and moving items as necessary.
- Team player is a MUST with a good attitude!
