Social Content Coordinator
The St. Louis Blues are looking for an ambitious self-starter who loves creating unique and exciting content for social media. The Social Content Coordinator will drive new content initiatives across Blues digital and social channels to deliver an engaging experience to our global audience.
The position reports to Vice President, Digital Content while working closely with all members of the club’s digital and content creation teams.
Who we’re looking for, and what you’ll do
- You’re a creator at heart and enjoy ideating, capturing and publishing content to social channels, including (but not limited to) Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
- Loves demonstrating creativity by designing original and unique graphics that visually inspire and deliver impactful storytelling.
- Enjoys concepting and producing original, trendy vertical video concepts for platforms such as TikTok and Reels.
- Craves the excitement of delivering real-time game night and event coverage, and does their best work in crunch time when a story or content opportunity is getting ready to break.
- Identify new opportunities to increase following across social accounts and create revenue opportunities with promotional/sponsored content.
- Collaborate with internal video production team to create social-first video concepts while working together on overall content strategies.
- Chronically online, always reviewing social media to follow trends, viral content and popular culture.
- Work with Manager, Social Media to optimize content for best performance based on platform.
Qualifications / Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, digital media or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in social media content creation, preferably in a sports or entertainment field.
- Proficient working in Adobe Creative Suite (emphasis on Photoshop and Premiere).
- Familiar with using DSLR cameras for photography.
- Capable of writing compelling copy.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to act fast and think quickly.
- Familiarity with hockey and the NHL.
- Flexible schedule for working required nights, weekends and holidays to accommodate team schedule and events.
- Ability to travel to away games and events when needed.
- Good team member that can collaborate with others but also work independently.
- Must exhibit utmost professional behavior working with players, coaches, executives and outside media while also keeping extreme confidentiality with team news and developments.
