What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Carpenter position at St. Louis Blues?
Day To Day Job Responsibilities
- Assist full time carpenters with building maintenance projects including but not limited to painting, patching, plumbing, carpentry, moving of furniture, etc.
- Serve as on duty carpenter during evening concerts and events.
- Assist in setup and breakdown of all events. This includes but is not limited to moving/stacking tables, chairs.
- Assists in keeping all storage areas and carpentry shop are kept clean and orderly.
- Takes part in building walks with Sr. Operations Manager and Maintenance Foreman to identify and prioritize maintenance projects.
- Identifies equipment that needs to be maintained and assists in developing a plan to carry out necessary repairs and upkeep.
- Operates forklift for show load in/out upon request.
- Oversees casual labor when hired to work in the theatre.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Forklift certification
- Basic knowledge of MS Office and Outlook.
- Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative with minimal supervision.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with employees and others encountered through the course of employment.
- Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results in a fast-paced environment.
- Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with other in both oral and written form.
- Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
- Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds.
- Extensive periods of walking, bending, and kneeling are necessary depending on the task that has been assigned.
