Job Summary:
The St. Louis Cardinals are seeking candidates for our Business Strategy & Analytics Internship position. The Business Strategy & Analytics department works cross functionally with our Marketing, Ticketing, Production & Corporate Partnership teams to drive revenue growth & optimization. This intern will support the Business Strategy & Analytics department in both developing dashboards, models, and statistical analysis as well as supporting long-term planning, change management, and strategic communications efforts to assist the Cardinals in all aspects of business operations and decision making.
Job Duties:
- Assist with querying and cleaning data from relational databases and other non-standard sources.
- Assist with building dashboards for stakeholders across the organization, which allow us to understand performance of departments, progress against key initiatives, and provide insights that drive decision making from stakeholders.
- Support the creation of predictive models to improve ticket sales, optimize marketing campaigns, and enhance operations and guest experience.
- Support 2025 and 2026 strategic planning efforts across various departments within the organization.
- Develop presentations and communications materials to relay key data-driven insights and facilitate cross-functional decision making.
Education and Experience Required:
- Current undergraduate enrollment in an accredited program at a college or University with a degree emphasis in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, or related field with a minimum Junior level status
- Comfortable working in both group and individual settings
- Knowledge of SQL
- Familiarity with R or Python
- Familiarity with statistical modeling and implementation of modeling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to explain technical data components to nontechnical users
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Passion for sports and/or baseball
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Familiarity with data visualization program (PowerBI, Tableau, Looker)
- Knowledge with R or Python
- Ability to summarize complex ideas and data into digestible, concise insights
- Experience creating project plans or roadmaps
- Experience developing and delivering presentations to audiences with diverse functional backgrounds
- Strong executive communications and presentation skills
- Familiarity with Agile/SAFe
