The basics of this position:

The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) is responsible for providing OTA students with quality Level I and Level II fieldwork opportunities. The AFWC develops, coordinates, and monitors programming related to student fieldwork experiences. Additionally, faculty are responsible for classroom instruction; providing for, encouraging and facilitating student learning; college service; and professional development.

What you'll do:

  • The AFWC is responsible for ensuring the program's compliance with the Accreditation Council of Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) fieldwork education requirements (C standards) and collaborating with fieldwork educators to ensure that fieldwork experiences meet the STLCC OTA Program's objectives.

Education, experience, and other requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required with at least one (1) year of clinical practice experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) or Occupational Therapist (OT)
  • Initially nationally certified (either COTA or OTR) and currently licensed to practice occupational therapy in the State of Missouri
  • Current driver's license
  • Current NBCOT certification required


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fieldwork educator experience
  • Three (3) years of clinical practice experience as an OTA or OT
  • One (1) year of full-time teaching experience
  • Clinical experience in pediatrics and/or mental health
  • Current AOTA membership
