As a Diesel Mechanic at St. Louis Composting, you are the driving force behind the machinery that creates our rich compost, mulch, and topsoil.
What You'll Do:
- Maintain and Repair: Perform maintenance on tractor trailers and conduct DOT inspections
- Inspect and Replace Parts: Inspect, repair, and replace defective or worn parts such as bearings, pistons, and gears.
- Overhaul Systems: Overhaul and test major components including engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
- Manage Parts: Order parts, provide status updates, and document corrective actions efficiently.
- Ensure Safety: Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing safety and professionalism.
- Adapt and Assist: Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
- Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid US driver's license and have personal tools (specialty tools provided).
- Physical Capability: Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Technical Proficiency: DOT Inspections, diesel engine maintenance
