What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern Trainee - Safety & Risk Management (Open) position at St. Louis County, Minnesota?
Professional and/or technical work that provides practical work experience for current college students or recent college and/or vocational/technical school graduates and accomplishes special project workloads for St. Louis County.
The primary focus of this internship will be conducting and documenting computer workstation ergonomic analysis' and revising/developing site and subject specific safety programs at county facilities. Some potential areas of responsibility may include: reviewing, revising and implementing the County's Employee Right to Know, AWAIR, Bloodborne Pathogen, Hearing Conservation and Lock Out/Tag Out programs. Additional responsibilities may include: researching Industrial Hygiene and Safety issues, assisting with building/work site inspections, assisting with health and safety program compliance auditing, and participating in indoor air quality investigations. The Intern Trainee classification is used to provide internship placements for students who seek a practical work experience in their academic field of study.WORK LOCATION:

POSITION INFORMATION:
Internship will run June through August 2025. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):
Good interpersonal communications skills and computer literacy.

- Candidates for Intern Trainee placements must be actively enrolled in a four year degree program with Junior or Senior status; OR, must have graduated from a four year degree program within the last six months.
- Preference will be given to individuals who intend to or have been accepted into an Industrial Hygiene/Safety Masters degree program.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
