What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corrections Case Manager - Part-Time position at St. Louis County?
St. Louis County Justice Services has an exciting opportunity working within its Choices Drug and Alcohol Program. This position will utilize an evidence-based approach to make a positive impact in the lives of program participants.
This role is funded through the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment grant. Work hours will be between 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday not to exceed 25 hours weekly.
The typical starting salary range is between $20.27 - $24.32 hourly with a 10% addition to pay for hours worked.Provides direct care to Choices graduates in a therapeutic environment conducive to recovery and healing from addiction. Researches and presents new developments/information regarding addiction and treatment. Possesses a working knowledge of the tools required to maintain recovery.
Documents and tracks client attendance.
Responsible for concern persons meetings and sessions with the family members and clients
Conducts meetings with family members and/or graduates to provide guidance and support as needed.
Collects data for the preparation of statistical reports.
Maintains annual attendance figures for reporting purposes.
Maintains caseload of clients.
Performs such additional duties as may properly be required of a position in this job class.Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in a Social Science, Social Work, Counseling, Criminal Justice or a related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred skills consist of one who is a licensed substance abuse and/or mental health counselor. Candidate selected for this position who does not possess a valid license agrees to complete all necessary requirements for substance abuse and/or mental health counseling. St. Louis County Justice Services will reimburse the selected candidate up to 50% of tuition costsSELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available.
The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire.
The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision.
All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be covered by the County.
