Minimum Qualifications
Near native fluency in spoken and written English and French
A license to teach in Missouri or other state (early childhood education, elementary or middle school education, K-6, or K-8) or ability to teach in the country in which the teacher received their training
Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, language, or a closely related field
Nice-to-Haves - Skills and qualities that are a plus but not necessarily a requirement
Teaching experience in K-8 classroom
Strong data tracking and interpretation habits
Solid understanding of academic and behavioral strategies for students with various needs
Knowledge of best practices when working with language learners
Responsibilities
Provide instruction in core content areas (literacy, math, science, etc.) to both elementary and middle school students in French and English
Ensures safety of students by providing active supervision
Builds strong relationships based on mutual respect across dimensions of difference with students, families, and all stakeholders
Provides appropriate, research-based scaffolds and differentiates instruction
Develops and uses an effective classroom culture plan
Collects and analyzes data, and uses it to drive decisions
Prepares and implements daily lessons aligned to the curriculum
Provides high-quality and consistent input in the language of instruction per the dual language model
