CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICERReports To :

COO / Board of Directors

Based at our company headquarters in St. Louis, the CFO is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, guiding its financial strategy, planning, and maintaining its fiscal stability. As a member of the senior leadership, they will collaborate with the executive management team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management : Manage the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, auditing, modelling and credit. Ensure that the financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet the organization's short and long-term business objectives and are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations, accounting principles, and standards. Develop and own the company’s relationship with banking and other financial partners.

Strategic Planning : Develop and implement the financial strategy of the company. This includes short- and long-term financial planning and forecasting, risk management, and investment strategies.

Financial Reporting : Oversee and participate in the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements. Ensure the timely reporting of key financial data and updates to the CEO, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders.

Compliance : Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial and intellectual property functions. This includes tax planning and compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.

Leadership : Lead the Credit, HR and Finance and Accounting teams and ensure their ongoing professional development and training. Participate in key decisions as a member of the senior leadership team.

Duties include (but are not limited to) : Directing the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.

Comparing sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; making or overseeing any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.

Working with sales and marketing teams to review and hold accountable expenses to budgets.Evaluating new opportunities, acquisitions and projects, making recommendations on the course of action to be taken.

Reviewing the planning process and suggesting improvements to current methods.

Analyzing operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.

Working with the senior leadership team to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.

Studying short- and long-range economic risks and trends and projecting their impact on future growth in sales and market share.Evaluating and challenging new product or brand acquisitions or distributorships.

Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (MBA preferred).Professional accreditation preferred (e.g., CPA, CFA).Extensive experience (8-10 years) in senior financial managerial roles, with a proven track record of success.Excellent knowledge of data analysis, risk management, and forecasting methods.Experience with a major company ERP system, such as SAP or Epicor (Epicor preferred).Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.Strong leadership, managerial and organizational skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.

Physical Requirements : Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Must be able to access various departments of a given location.Occasional travel to trade shows or for other company purposes may be required.
