St. Louis Public Library’s Central, Julia Davis, and Barr Branches are seeking a Creative Experience Assistant. Creative Experiences are digital makerspaces located at those three libraries. Tuesday & Wednesday 4-8 pm
Saturday 8:30 am - 5 pm
Sunday 1-5 pm
20 hours per week, evening and weekend availability required

Creative Experience spaces are located at Central Library (1301 Olive Street), Barr Library (1701 South Jefferson), and Julia Davis Library (4415 Natural Bridge Avenue). In our spaces, you will find resources for 3D printing and modeling, animation, audio production, game development, graphic and web design, image editing, large format printing, laser cutting, recording rooms, video production, and virtual reality.

In This Role You Will
- Assist customers with utilization of Creative Experience computers, 3D printers, large format printers, laser cutter, virtual reality, recording rooms, and other related equipment.
- Assist in facilitating or leading training sessions and programs for staff and customers on Creative Experience resources
- Troubleshoot Library equipment
- Communicate with managers regarding needed maintenance or Help Desk tickets for issues with technology.
- Provide one-on-one assistance for customers through Tech Connect appointments
- Focused on providing excellent customer service and able to assist customers with different levels of technology proficiency
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to quickly learn new software and hardware for creative applications
- Able to adapt to a new location with short notice based on coverage needs
- At least six months of experience and/or training, or an Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- Strong communication, writing, and speaking skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Computer Skills and knowledge of:
- Windows 10
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)
- Digital Library Programs (OverDrive, Hoopla, and Freegal)
- GSuite (Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail)
- Chromebooks
- Social media
- Cloud storage
- Digital creative software and hardware (including Adobe Creative Suite, audio and video production, virtual reality, game development, 3D modeling and 3D printers)
