The Assistant Principal for Activities and Formation is a newly established leadership position focused on fostering the spiritual, personal, and communal growth of students, faculty, and staff. The Assistant Principal for Activities and Formation oversees key programs that support student and faculty formation, facilitates inclusive community-building initiatives, and guides the development of Ignatian-inspired practices across the campus.

Core Responsibilities
Student Leadership and Life
- Oversee the Student Council coordinator and provide guidance for student leadership development.
- Ensure student activities align with the school's mission and enhance community life.
- Direct Student Activities, including clubs, events, and co-curricular opportunities, ensuring active student participation and engagement.
- Manage co-curricular events, ensuring proper supervision and organization.
- Assign faculty chaperones for dances and student activities.
Community Building and Advisory Program
Manage the Advisory Program, promoting meaningful mentorship and connection between faculty and students.Collaborate with faculty and staff to foster a sense of belonging and shared purpose across the school community.Oversee the Global Education program, ensuring students and faculty engage in meaningful cross-cultural learning experiences.Oversee Equity and Inclusion efforts to create a welcoming and inclusive school environment that reflects the school's mission and values.Oversee Sustainability efforts to deepen SLUH's commitment to the Universal Apostolic Preference of care for our common home.Collaborate with the Care Team and other stakeholders to ensure equity and inclusion are integral to all school activities.Calendar Supervision
Maintain and oversee the master calendar for spiritual, cultural, and community-building events.Partner with other school leaders to ensure seamless coordination of formation-related programs and activities.Coordinate the master school calendar, ensuring timely updates and communication with all stakeholders.Support the scheduling and organization of major school events.Spiritual Formation and Faith Leadership
Oversee Campus Ministry, ensuring programs promote spiritual growth and alignment with Ignatian values.Oversee initiatives for faculty and staff spirituality, fostering faith development and community engagement.Coordinate Freshman Onboarding programs that introduce new students to the school's spiritual, academic, and social environment.Support New Ignatian Educators by organizing formation experiences that align with Jesuit principles and traditions.Direct Reports

Guide and mentor new faculty and staff in alignment with the school's Ignatian mission and values.Collaborate with the Care Team to address student well-being and ensure a holistic approach to formation.Act as a liaison between administration, faculty, staff, and students on matters of formation and student life.Assist with the onboarding of new students and faculty, providing resources and support for their integration into the school community.Assist in the hiring, supervision, and evaluation of personnel.Committee and Council Memberships

A Master's Degree in school administration or in a related academic area
8 years of successful secondary or higher education teaching experience
Excellent organization and communication skills
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
A compelling vision and passion for formation work with adolescents
Familiarity with and understanding of practical uses of technology for instruction
Administrative / supervisory experience
