This position supports the Pool Supervisor in managing pool staff, enforcing safety regulations, maintaining facilities, and handling guest interactions. The Assistant Pool Supervisor is responsible for assisting in staff training, supervising pool attendants and lifeguards, and stepping in for the Pool Supervisor as needed. This position is eligible to participate in the Aquatics pay incentive program.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Key Responsibilities: Staff Supervision & SupportAssist in supervising and coordinating the daily activities of pool attendants and lifeguards to ensure efficient and effective operations.Provide training and support to new staff on pool operations, safety protocols, and customer service practices.Monitor staff performance, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high levels of service and adherence to safety standards.Step in to cover shifts or handle tasks in the absence of pool lifeguards or supervisors.Safety & ComplianceEnsure that pool safety rules and regulations are being followed by both staff and guests, with an emphasis on preventing accidents and injuries.Assist in conducting regular safety checks of the pool area, including water quality, equipment, and emergency supplies.Respond promptly and appropriately to any emergencies, following established procedures and protocols.Assist in implementing and enforcing emergency response plans, ensuring all staff are prepared for emergency situations.Guest Assistance & InteractionGreet pool visitors and address any concerns, complaints, or requests in a professional and courteous manner.Assist in swim lesson registration and pool pass sales, providing accurate information to guests regarding schedules, fees, and requirements.Handle cash transactions, process payments, and provide receipts, following proper cash handling procedures.Ensure that pool guests have a positive and enjoyable experience, assisting with special requests or events as necessary.Maintenance & CleanlinessAssist in overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of the pool area, including pool decks, restrooms, and surrounding facilities.Help maintain the condition of pool equipment and furniture, and report any maintenance needs to the Pool Supervisor.Ensure that proper procedures for pool sanitation are being followed and help with routine checks of pool water quality.Ensure all common areas are properly stocked with necessary supplies (e.g., cleaning products, first aid kits).Administrative SupportAssist the Pool Supervisor in managing staff schedules, attendance, and timekeeping.Help prepare and implement schedules for swim lessons, special events, and staff assignments.Assist with compiling reports, including attendance records, incident logs, and maintenance requests. The role also requires the ability to interact with guests in a busy and dynamic environment.ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS AND WORK HAZARDS: The Pool Assistant Supervisor typically works in an outdoor pool environment, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions, including sun, rain, and heat. This position involves working near water, and the attendant must be vigilant about potential slip or trip hazards. Proper safety protocols and equipment will be provided to mitigate risk. Employees must be aware of the potential for exposure to chlorine and other pool chemicals.SAFETY EQUIPMENT & PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE): Employees are required to adhere to all safety protocols and utilize appropriate safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) provided to ensure a safe working environment.
