What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitor position at St. Luke Christian Childcare Development Center?
We are seeking to hire an efficient and self motivated part-time janitor to perform the duties described below. Hours are 2pm-6pm approximately.
Job Description:
- Clean building floors by sweeping and vacuuming daily
- Vacuum teachers classrooms daily
- Mopping 3x’s a week in classrooms, hallways and kitchen
- Clean windows and mirrors daily
- Clean, disinfect and supply restrooms with toilet paper, paper towels and soap and mop bathrooms daily
- Remove waste and empty trash to dumpster
- Wipe counters in kitchen
- Replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies
- Clean walls & baseboards once a month
- Wash trash cans once a month
- Organize janitorial storage areas
- Knowledge of buffing floors is not required but a plus, training available
- Spot clean carpets
- Vacuum Skeete Hall for events before and after
- Keep outside mats and sidewalks clear of dirt, debris and bugs
- Other jobs done quarterly and annually to be discussed at interviewing.
Qualifications:
Must pass background check and have no criminal record
Ability to read and interpret written information; ability to write clear statements; ability to communicate effectively orally with director, assistant director and staff
Must be 18yrs or older, high school diploma or GED
Must be able to do physical work and operate power equipment normally found in janitorial operations
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Attention to detail
Willing to train but experience is a plus
Must be able to manage time efficiently and to work individually as well as within a team
