What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Care Technician (PCT) position at St. Luke Hospital and Living Center?
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs routine personal patient care activities for patients to promote their comfort, maintain their functional ability and contribute to their overall wellness and recuperation. The PCT receives direction for patient care from the registered nurse and provider.
St. Luke Hospital is a critical access hospital licensed for 10 acute care beds, 4 outpatient beds, and 3 emergency room beds. The hospital is a working environment that has a busy atmosphere with frequent interruptions. The department provides nursing care for facility patients. The work requires the ability to do heavy lifting exerting up to 50 to 75 lbs. of force occasionally, walking, standing, sitting, reaching, stooping, squatting and kneeling.
