St. Luke Lutheran Community is now seeking a full-time qualified candidate for the role of Activities Coordinator at our beautiful Portage Lakes Campus. The primary purpose of this position is to plan, implement, deliver and evaluate the overall operation of the Activities Department.
We are looking for someone who is highly energetic, creative, kind, and loves working with the residents to discover their strengths and purpose.
Qualified candidate must possess:
- Qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional who is eligible for certification as a recreation specialist or activities professional (NCCAP certification preferred)
- Two years of experience in a social or recreational program within last five years, one year of which was full-time in a resident activities program in a health care setting
- Must have basic understanding of the needs of elderly
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and plan engaging activities for residents in long-term care settings, ensuring their needs and preferences are met.
- Assist residents with daily living activities (ADL's) while promoting independence.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to foster a supportive environment.
- Manage schedules and lead activities and events, ensuring smooth execution and participation.
- Provide support and care to enhance the quality of life of Residents through recreational therapy.
