- JOB SUMMARY
- The ED/Trauma Data Validation Specialist audits and makes appropriate changes on all aspects of the census registration and order entry functions for all accounts originating from the Emergency Department. Thereby providing accurate documentation to enhance patient, family and payer satisfaction and to allow ASL and ALV Hospital to receive appropriate reimbursement for services provided.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Six (6) months health care experience, including medical terminology and basic data analysis experience.

- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: N/A
- Experience: Acute care environment experience. Experience with basic ICD-10 and CPT coding and reporting capabilities.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current license in Minnesota to practice as a Registered Nurse with experience in Emergency Medical Care, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, Medical Assistant, LPN, Nursing Assistant or HUC.
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of principles of information systems; of medical and hospital terminology; anatomy and physiology; pathophysiology; statistical calculations; information display; ICD-10 and AIS coding. Demonstrates skill in data entry and office management programs; Word, Excel, Power Point. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, work independently, demonstrate good judgment in determining work priorities, understand and comply with policies and procedures related to confidentiality. Ability to use good judgment and problem solving techniques. Above average investigation skills. Ability to see, hear, speak English and sit for long periods. Ability to concentrate for an entire workday performing the same task with a high level of accuracy and demonstrates attention to detail with high levels of accuracy. Ability to maintain confidentiality; to establish and maintain good working relationships with others.
- READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
