JOB SUMMARY
-
The Lead-Rad-Mammo Technologist, under the direction of the X-ray Outreach Technologist, and the combined administrative direction of the site Clinic Manager and the Director of Radiology, is responsible for performing x-ray examinations, screening or diagnostic mammograms and maintains the quality control program for mammography and x ray. The Lead Rad-Mammo Technologist also provides support services within the department when not performing patient procedures. The Lead Rad-Mammo Technologist is responsible for existing job duties as well as leading staff through daily tasks and training team members as necessary. Initiates communication with patient care staff and management as needed to facilitate positive change. Understands and stays current on imaging standards and industry trends for the radiology field.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-
Education: Graduate of a 2-year accredited radiologic technology program.

Experience: Two (2) years as a Radiologic Technologist, preferably in an outpatient clinic setting.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Radiologic Technologist Registered RT(R) within ninety (90) days of hire. Within ninety (90) days of hire, BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network.

Knowledge of x-ray and mammography functions in a Physician office setting. Knowledge of Universal Precautions, generally accepted safety practices, radiation safety and quality control practices for x-ray and mammography services. Knowledge of medical record documentation practices related to lab and x-ray and mammography services. Knowledge of personal computing application and customer relations principles. Ability to perform x-rays and mammography films. Ability to work independently under general administrative and medical direction. Ability to prioritize tasks without compromising patient care. Ability to demonstrate positive customer relations behaviors and to present a professional image. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Ability to perform routine computer data entry functions. Ability to participate in orientation of new personnel and teaching of students. Ability to write legibly, to see, perform visual microscopic analysis, read, hear, walk, speak English.
