Position Summary:
Performs data quality reviews on patient records to validate coding appropriateness, missed secondary diagnoses and procedures, and ensures compliance with all coding related regulatory mandates and reporting requirements. Monitors Medicare and other payer bulletins and manuals and reviews the current OIG Work Plans for coding risk areas. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs all duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:
Education: Associate degree in Health Services
Experience: 5 years of coding or coding review experience
Licensure: RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification
