Position Summary:
Assists the physician in evaluating the patient's level of function. Assesses home environment and identifies equipment needs related to speech/language function. Identifies functional speech deficits and establishes goals and plan of care to improve patient's function, revising as necessary. Performs and complete recertifications, resumption-of-care, and discharge Comprehensive OASIS assessments and associated paperwork in accordance to agency policy. Instructs patient and family members, as well as other health team members, in methods of assisting the patient in improving communication skills. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs all duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:
Education: A Master's Degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited college approved by the American Board of Examiners in Speech Pathology and Audiology of the American Speech and Hearing Association.
Licensure: Licensed in Missouri by the State Board of Healing Arts to practice as a Speech Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical competence in speech pathology or audiology.
