Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team at St. Luke's Hospital Transitional Care Center in Cedar Rapids, IA. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing quality care and support to our patients during the day shift from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding patients, ensuring dietary needs are met
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
- Assist with transferring and repositioning patients to prevent pressure ulcers
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely
- Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings
Qualifications:
- Active CNA certification in the state of Iowa
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients and their families
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Basic computer skills for documentation purposes
