  • JOB SUMMARY
  • The Clinical Supervisor of Patient Placement, under the direction of the Department Director, proactively coordinates patient care activities and ensures the patient placement processes are carried out on all shifts (24 / 7), managing resources and people, quality and performance improvement, and by role modeling Aspirus’ values and mission. Supervises and / or coordinates the functions related to business communications and transactions, medical records management, clinical services, compliance, safety and customer service. Works collaboratively system-wide with Leadership and Medical staff as needed. Provides direction and is a resource to meet the operational needs of assigned areas of responsibility.

    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education : Associates in Nursing degree and completion of Bachelor’s degree in Nursing within three (3) years of hire into position.

    • Experience : Three (3) years clinical nursing experience.
    • Licensure / Certification / Registration : Current license in Minnesota to practice as a Registered Nurse. Certification in associated specialty area of nursing or obtains within one (1) year of meeting eligibility requirements. Current BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network.
    • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

    • Experience : Three (3) years in a position with demonstrated growth in responsibilities for office management including human resources, business office, quality improvement and computerized office systems or any amount of supervisory experience.

    • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Demonstrates strong leadership capabilities, initiative, and good judgment. Utilizes strong communication and participative problem-solving skills. Possesses strong analytical skills. Assures collaboration and relation with all levels of employees in hospital departments, patients, and physicians to provide an optimal patient care environment. Capable of making good judgments in stressful situations and can direct others towards positive outcomes.

    • WRITING - Advanced : Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
    • SPEAKING - Advanced : Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, top management, public groups, clients, customers, and the general public.
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Advanced : Ability to comprehend and apply advanced mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations and proportions to practical situations.
    • REASONING ABILITY - Advanced Skills : Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • AGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES - Skilled at assessment and knowledgeable of growth and development. Provides appropriate care respective to the ages of the patients served per clinical environment.

      Ability to change positions frequently (sitting, standing, walking, climbing and bending); lift up to thirty-five (35) pounds; prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing / walking. Occasionally lifts, positions, pushes and / or transfers patients. Assists with moving and lifting patients.

    • Stand - Continuously Over 2 / 3 (5.5 – 8 hours)
    • Walk - Continuously Over 2 / 3 (5.5 – 8 hours)
    • Sit - Frequently 1 / 3 to 2 / 3 (2.5 – 5.5 hours)
    • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel - Continuously Over 2 / 3 (5.5 – 8 hours)
    • Reach with hands and arms - Continuously Over 2 / 3 (5.5 – 8 hours)
    • Stoop, Squat, Kneel, or Crouch - Frequently 1 / 3 to 2 / 3 (2.5 – 5.5 hours)
    • Bending-repetitive forward - Frequently 1 / 3 to 2 / 3 (2.5 – 5.5 hours)
    • Talk or hear - Continuously Over 2 / 3 (5.5 – 8 hours)

      Up to 10 pounds - Continuously Over 2 / 3 (5.5 – 8 hours)

    • Up to 25 pounds - Frequently 1 / 3 to 2 / 3 (2.5 – 5.5 hours)
    • Up to 35 pounds - Occasionally Under 1 / 3 (1-2.5 hours)
    • WORK ENVIRONMENT

      Typical Noise Level - Moderate noise (examples : business office with computers and printers, light traffic)

    • WORKING CONDITIONS
    • Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases. Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances. Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illnesses). Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Emergency or crisis situations. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours.
