- WRITING - Intermediate : Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.
- SPEAKING - Intermediate : Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Intermediate Skills : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw or interpret bar graphs to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Education : High School Graduate or equivalent. Must complete the Employer-based training program within the time frame specified for the employee on the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy website.
New hires are exempt from this requirement if any of the following conditions are met :
Continuous registration as a pharmacy technician with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy since January 1st, 2013.
Education : Previous completion of approved pharmacy tech training program.
Familiarity with drug names, both brand and generic; ability to understand and to utilize the PIMS as well as PC's in the pharmacy; operational knowledge of equipment used in the pharmacy; to follow written and oral instructions with accuracy and dependability; to communicate verbal and written instructions; to work with sustained attention on repetitive tasks; to distinguish routine functions from those that require professional judgment; good finger dexterity; to do light typing; to learn and participate in all areas assigned; to adapt to the changing role of Hospital pharmacy and develop new technician roles; to give consistent attention to details.
READING - Intermediate : Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to see, hear, stand, talk, bend and sit for an eight (8) hour period; ability to lift up to thirty-five (35) pounds. Occasional prolonged standing / walking; occasionally lifts supplies / equipment.
