Job Summary
The Skilled Nursing Facility Physical Therapist evaluates and administers physical therapy treatment programs to restore function, alleviate pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient evaluations thoroughly and accurately in a timely manner.
- Establish realistic, attainable short-term and long-term goals with each patient.
- Implement effective progressive treatment programs based on evaluative findings.
- Administer therapeutic modalities and programs appropriately and effectively.
- Provide on-premises supervision of Physical Therapist Assistants and aides.
- Assist in developing and implementing department programs.
- Accurately bill patients' accounts for services rendered.
- Participate in quality assurance data collection and planning.
Education and Experience
- Master's Degree in Physical Therapy required.
- Current Physical Therapist license in the State of New Jersey or Pennsylvania, based on work location.
- Doctorate Degree preferred.
- CPR certification required.
Requirements
- Ability to sit for up to ninety minutes at a time.
- Ability to tolerate standing for thirty to forty-five minutes consecutively.
- Ability to use hands/fingers to manipulate dials on machines.
- Ability to lift/move patients up to 300 lbs.
- Ability to frequently stoop/bend, squat, crouch, kneel, and reach above shoulder level.
