Job Overview
St. Luke's is seeking a passionate and skilled Music Director. The Music Director is tasked with planning music for all church services, including Sundays and special services such as Ash Wednesday and Christmas Eve. The music director also leads the choir and children’s music ministry (Family Music Night), maintains the organ and piano and coordinates with tuners for their regular maintenance, maintains the choral music library, and purchases new music throughout the year.
Duties
- Plan and lead music for Sunday church services.
- Plan and lead music for special services, including Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, etc.
- Lead the St. Luke's choir and, occasionally, small instrument ensembles.
- Lead children’s music ministry, including Family Music Night.
- Maintain the organ and piano and coordinate with tuners for their regular maintenance.
- Maintain the choral music library and purchase new music throughout the year.
- Communicate and coordinate with congregation as needed.
- Administrative work in service of St. Luke's music ministry.
Requirements
- Well-versed in Traditional and Contemporary Worship Music.
- Talented on piano (keyboards), and interested in or able to play organ.
- Able to lead choir and small instrumental ensembles.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $1,000.00 per month
