JOB SUMMARY
-
The Lead Therapy Support Staff-Physical Rehab completes office, reception, and clerical duties for the Physical Rehabilitation Department, as well as supporting the practitioners both in house and at outreach clinics. Registers patients, verifies insurance eligibility, determines prior authorization needs, reconciles denials, and assists with coding and billing for all patients. Maintains materials and supplies for all department areas. Contributes to the overall department efficiency, workflow, and utilization in conjunction with leadership. Acts as a role model for Therapy Support Staff in the demonstration and support of teamwork among staff, therapist, referring providers, billing, and clinical departments. Helps develop, educate staff, and ensures compliance on support services policy and procedure. Woks as a resource for the department and clinical partners to assist with scheduling, billing, and authorization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: One (1) year related experience in a medical office or related experience working with automated systems and computer technology.

Experience: Two (2) or more years in a medical setting to include billing, coding and medical terminology.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Understanding of medical terminology. Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Publisher, etc.). Skills in verbal and written communication. Ability to perform detailed work accurately and on a timely basis. Type 50 wpm; use copy machine, telephone intercom, calculator and computer. Ability to manage time, organize and prioritize responsibilities.
