  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The Rad-Mammo Technologist, under the administrative direction of the Clinic Manager and the technical direction of the SLH Radiology Outreach Technologist, performs diagnostic radiographic procedures and screening or diagnostic mammograms, including related quality controls. Performs darkroom/film processor duties. Maintains related quality assurance records required for mammography services. Maintains x-ray files, orders and maintains related x-ray supplies. Performs EKGs, spirometry testing, heel ultrasound and assists Physician with Cardiac Stress Testing and related duties. Performs functions as assigned by Clinic Manager.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education: Graduate of 2-year accredited radiologic technology program.
    • Experience: N/A
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
      WI Locations: Must have Wisconsin Radiographer License.
      MN Locations: Radiologic Technologist Registered RT(R). Must have Wisconsin Radiographer License if floating to WI Clinic Location.
      All Locations: Within ninety (90) days of hire, BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network.

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Knowledge of radiation safety practices. Knowledge of customer relations principles. Ability to function well in stressful situations, to exercise good judgment, accept personal responsibility and carry out assigned tasks. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious and cooperative working relationships with other people, both in person and on the telephone. Ability to effectively communicate with Physicians, patients and support staff. Ability to write legibly, see, hear, read, walk and speak in English. Computer keyboarding skills.

      READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
    • WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.
    • SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
    • REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • AGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES - Skilled at assessment and knowledgeable of growth and development. Provides appropriate care respective to the ages of the patients served per clinical environment.

    • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
      • Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking; assists with lifting and moving patients, supplies and equipment; considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching; lifting up to thirty-five (35) pounds; work more than eight (8) hours but less than twelve (12) hour shifts, when needed; wear lead protection for varying lengths of time.

      • Typical Noise Level - Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic)

      WORKING CONDITIONS
      • Exposed to radiological chemicals and electrical and radiant energy hazards. Exposed to risk of blood borne diseases when working in clinical areas. May be exposed to unpleasant patient elements. Work assignments may include more than one clinic specimen collection setting. May take off-premise call with requirement to return to Clinic as needed when on-call.
