Job Description​

The Opportunity:

Saint Luke’s Anderson County Hospital in Garnett, KS is seeking a Patient Accounts Representative/Financial Counselor to join our team. This is an onsite role that is patient facing, handling payment arrangements, financial assistance, and answering billing questions and concerns.

Shift Details:

• Full-Time, Days, 40hrs/wk.

The Work:

• Performs claim edits
• Verifies insurance coverage
• Follows up with payors on open accounts
• Performs denials and payment variances
• Demonstrates excellent customer service
• Review and manage work queue to identify daily work
• Utilizes eligibility systems, online websites, or phone calls to determine insurance benefits
• Enter pertinent insurance information into EPIC
• Enter appropriate notes for all patients encounters
• Handling payment arrangements, financial assistance and answering billing questions and concerns
• Other duties as assigned

Experience with facility claim submission for a hospital system is preferred.

Epic experience a plus.

We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills. The ideal candidate has strong computer and critical thinking skills and has the ability to multitask.
