Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Manager, the Sterile Processing Shift Supervisor monitors daily operations in the SPD department, ensuring that technicians are trained in and abide by all departmental policies and procedures. Conducts and coordinates job-specific training of employees. Monitors productivity and quality of product of individual employees and of an assigned shift. Creates employee schedules and monitors attendance. Establishes and maintains professional rapport with medical, nursing, and other staff. Performs the duties of an SPD Technician as required. Assumes responsibilities for department as a whole in the absence of the SPD Manager. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs all duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: 7 years of previous Sterile Processing experience
License: Current certification as a Sterile Processing Technician or Supervisor through an accredited organization (IAHCSMM,CPSPD)
