What are the responsibilities and job description for the PART-TIME Housekeeping/Laundry position at St. Lukes Nursing Center?
- Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments
- Perform day to day laundry functions as assigned
- Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments
- Works in all areas of the facility
- Sits, Stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during working hours
- Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors
- Daily as instructed--clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc.--in residents rooms, recreational areas, etc.
- Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures. Assure that water marks are removed from any fixtures.
- Clean windows/mirrors in residents rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit windows.
- Clean floors--sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc. (Note: Assure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.)
- Clean carpets--vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
- Clean walls and ceilings--washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing.
- Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc. from all surfaces using proper cleansing disinfecting solutions.
- Clean hallways.
- Discard waste/trash in proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.
- Clean vacant rooms as assigned.
- Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipmetn, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored at all times, as well as, before leaving such areas for breaks, meal times, and end of work day.
- Perform terminal cleaning procedures as instructed, when a resident is discharged and /or is transferred to another room/area.
- Discard infectious waste into appropriate containers.
- Maintain confidentiality of the residents information.
- Honor the resident's personal property and property rights.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
