Mathematics Teacher

Position: Math Teacher (Pre-Algebra to Pre-Calculus) & Dorm Parent – Girls Dorm

Location: St. Margaret's School, Tappahannock, VA

Type: Full-Time | Residential Faculty

St. Margaret's School seeks a passionate and dedicated Math Teacher to join our dynamic academic community. The ideal candidate will be capable of teaching a range of courses, from pre-algebra through pre-calculus, while also serving as a Dorm Parent in one of our girls’ residential houses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach a full-time load of math classes across the middle and upper school levels (Pre-Algebra to Pre-Calculus)
• Create engaging, student-centered lesson plans that foster critical thinking and mathematical reasoning
• Serve as a Dorm Parent in a girls' dormitory, helping to cultivate a safe, supportive, and structured residential life experience
• Participate in faculty duties, advisory programs, and school life activities
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support student success
• Coaching experience a plus; opportunities available in athletics and extracurricular leadership

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• Prior teaching experience at the middle or high school level
• A commitment to holistic, student-focused education
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Experience with or enthusiasm for residential life programming
• As the school curriculum is based on the river, candidates should be comfortable with kayaking, sailing, and boating.
