Job Responsibilities
Main Responsibilities and Tasks for an EMT in Non-Emergency Medical Transport
- Patient Assessment & Monitoring: Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including vital signs monitoring and initial assessments prior to transport. Utilize industry-standard procedures for non-emergency and interfacility patient care.
- Safe Transportation & Vehicle Operation: Operate ambulances and specialized transport vehicles safely and efficiently, following all traffic laws and safety protocols.
Ensure proper handling of equipment and adherence to vehicle maintenance schedules. - In-Transit Care & Support: Provide continuous basic life support (BLS) and care during patient transit. Monitor patients for any changes in condition and respond promptly to ensure comfort and safety.
- Documentation & Communication: Accurately record patient information, transport details, and care provided using standardized medical documentation practices.
Communicate effectively with dispatch, healthcare providers, and facility staff to ensure continuity of care. - Compliance & Safety Standards: Adhere to all regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry-standard protocols. Maintain strict infection control and patient safety procedures.
