St. Mark Preschool is a year-round school centrally located with a beautiful, large outdoor play space in addition to our classrooms. You’ll be working with children ages 12 months-5 years old, with primary placement in our 12-24 month old class. Our community is made up of a thoughtful team of 7 teachers, 7 assistants, and approximately 70 families, who look forward to welcoming you to our preschool.
We currently have an opening for one full-time toddler assistant teacher with a minimum of 6 ECE units (3 may be in progress) and previous experience with young children.
Job Description:
*Provide quality care, guidance and developmental experiences meeting appropriate educational, emotional, and creative needs of the children under the direction of the Preschool Director.
*Supervise the children individually and in a group setting.
*Plan and carry out a program of daily activities under the supervision of the Lead teacher.
*Attend and be prepared to participate in all staff meetings, in-services professional development, and orientations.
*Participate in additional school activities and open houses as required.
*Pick up and clean supplies as needed, attend to weekly and daily light housekeeping duties.
*Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor with all children, parents, and staff. There is a non-tolerate policy for negative conversation or quarreling among staff or parents. All concerns should be addressed with the Director.
*Conform to the Bylaws and Policies and Procedures of St. Mark Preschool and abide by guidelines set by the California Department of Social Services.
The children we serve are in the age range of 1 - 5 years old. We offer competitive hourly pay depending on experience and education.
Required Qualifications:
- 6 ECE units minimum (3 may be in progress)
- A passion for children and life-long learning
- Ability to develop positive and productive relationships with children, peers and families
- A warm, friendly and helpful attitude, and flexibility
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with parents and fellow teachers
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Must be able to pass DOJ fingerprint process, pre-employment physical and TB test
- Documentation of immunizations also required
