Job Overview
In the role of Family Minister, we seek someone to oversee the worship, fellowship, formation, and well-being of intergenerational families with children (1st-5th grade) while working in concert with the Early Childhood Director (birth-Kindergarten) and Youth Group Leader (6-12th grade) to ensure cohesiveness and consistency across family offerings. In the role of Electronic Media Director, we seek someone to regularly post to Instagram and Facebook pictures, event notices, and invitations to church activities, while also overseeing all electronic communications to include weekly emails, website updates, and Sunday Powerpoint Slides.
Representative Responsibilities
Family Worship: Organizes and oversees Back Porch Services, Children’s Chapel, and any other liturgical events involving families, children, and youth.
Family Formation: Create and develop curriculum and programs to draw in and grow families in their understanding of the faith and their walk with Christ at St Mark’s. Recruit, train, and empower people of all ages for service to the household of God. Includes events like Sunday School, Wednesday night programming, and Vacation Bible Study.
Family Fellowship: Plan and execute events throughout the year to build fellowship bonds within families, between families, and alongside church family. Programs like summer movies, bouncy houses, ice cream bars, meals, and family friendly activities during Parish special events. Family Well Being: Work in conjunction with clergy to identify and address pastoral needs of families.
Administrative Oversight of Family Ministries: Develops and manages budgets. Helps Parish Administrator keep family records up to date. Recruits volunteers and hourly staff to support family ministry needs.
Diaper Pantry Co-Coordinator: Works with ECD and clergy to operate our diaper pantry once a month.
Electronic Communications Director: Create, distribute, and manage content for all church activities across Facebook, Instagram, Website and any other appropriate social media platforms. Create and distribute weekly E-News and all other electronic communications. Generates or updates weekly Sunday Service Powerpoint Slides.
Ideal candidates will have an education background, be a mature Christian (preferably Episcopalian) with good boundaries, and have some experience in pastoral care. Interested people should email the Rev Christian Hawley christian@stmarkssanmarcos.org with a resume and three references.
