Job Summary And Qualifications
The OB Technician delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the OB Technician assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the OB Technician’s skills/training and the needs of the Department and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The OB Technician complies with all hospital policies/procedures and observes the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.
Assists surgeon during C-sections. Ensures surgical suite is adequately prepared for C-sections. Ensures labor and delivery rooms are adequately stocked and prepared. Cleans, wraps, and sends all instruments to Central Sterile for sterilization. Assists Labor and Delivery nurses when needed. Participates in department process improvement (PI) activities.

St. Mark's has expanded emergency access to the communities we serve with two free standing emergency centers, Taylorsville Emergency Center and West Valley Emergency Center. Both locations have 10 plus patient rooms are staffed 24/7 by experienced board-certified emergency room physicians, nurses and support teams from St. Mark's Hospital. In addition to ER care, both facilities give comprehensive imaging services, including computerized tomography (CT scan), Xray, and ultrasound as well as a fully-equipped medical laboratory.

- Basic Cardiac Life support- American Red Cross or American Heart Assocation- Required
- NRP Essentials- Required
- One-year operating room experience- Preferred
- One Year CNA or PCT experience- Preferred
