Our Laboratory Team
We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Professional to join our histopathology department at St. Marks Hospital UT. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing tissue samples for examination by pathologists, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
As a key member of our laboratory team, you will work closely with other laboratory professionals to ensure that all tests are conducted efficiently and effectively. Your ability to follow established procedures and maintain accurate records will be essential in meeting the needs of patients and healthcare providers.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in histology, with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role. They must also hold certification as a Histotechnologist (HT) and have a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Additionally, the ASCP certification is mandatory for this position.
Work Environment and Schedule
You will work in a fast-paced laboratory setting, where you will have access to state-of-the-art equipment, including an embedder and microtome. You will also be lifting objects weighing up to 25 pounds on occasion. The laboratory is staffed by four full-time employees, with two histo techs working during the day shift. You will work an early morning shift, typically from 4am to 12pm.
