Job description
St Mark’s Surgical Center is seeking a full-time (30 hours a week) Front Desk Admitting to work Monday to Thursday. Since we are a surgery center, we open early! If you enjoy getting up early four days a week and can consistently bring a smile, please come join our team.
We are looking for excellent customer service skills, a history of stellar work attendance, and prior medical office experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in record management and an insatiable desire to gain additional knowledge regarding various topics. You will oversee maintaining, locating, and retrieving records in accordance with strict legal and policy procedures. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and take direction from the team. The candidate must be computer literate, well organized, and highly detail-oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Cheerfully greets and checks patients in for scheduled procedures.
- Processes payments for co-pays/deductibles/co-insurance.
- Places outbound calls to patients arriving the following day who have not paid their patient responsibility amount.
- Thoroughly reviews all patient history forms, checklists, and consent forms to ensure completion prior to sending back with the clinical staff.
- Audit charts for completeness
- Performs daily chart preparation for the next business day to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Handle confidential information according to HIPAA standards.
- Answers phone and efficiently handles calls.
- Scan completed chart into EMR system within 24 hours post-procedure.
- Perform clerical duties and routine filing, sorting, and scanning tasks.
- Assists the Business Office Manager with tidiness in the front office, breakroom, lobby, general office organization, and weekly supply orders.
- Perform job-related activities in a timely and efficient manner, take initiative, and be willing to take on new responsibilities.
- Completes work to the level of expectation in a timely and efficient manner each day.
- Maintains an efficient and organized workflow process while keeping the physical workspace clean and clutter-free
- Serves as a liaison between the center staff and our patients or vendors.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
