St. Mary Academy - Bay View is seeking Part-time Middle and Upper School Physical Education teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.
The ideal candidate is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing instructional programming that promotes the academic, social-emotional, and spiritual growth of students in an all-girls school. Candidates must be committed to an all-girls education and Mercy values.
Roles and Responsibilities:
-Prepare and teach physical education and health classes that build students’ ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle through exercise and movement
-Design, plan, and implement lesson plans
-Guide students in their social-emotional development, maintaining expectations and support for positive and productive student behavior
-Use Google Suite to post class expectations and enhance instruction outside of the classroom
-Supervise students with PE as an Independent study period.
Qualifications
-BA/BS degree in physical education or comparable major, MA preferred
-Knowledge and experience teaching an engaging PE and health curriculum
-Demonstrated understanding of the developmental range of the age groups
-High energy level and creative thinking
-Excellent group management skills
-Have a sense of humor and love working with students and their families
-Strong work ethic and a caring temperament
