As a Medical Receptionist, you will ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for our patients. Your role includes managing patient check-in and check-out processes, handling referrals, answering phones, and collecting copays. Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients upon arrival, ensuring all necessary information is accurately recorded.
- Manage patient check-out, schedule follow-up appointments, and process payments.
- Create and manage patient referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers.
- Answer incoming phone calls, direct calls to the appropriate staff, and provide information as needed.
- Collect copays, balances, and provide patients with accurate billing information.
- Maintain patient records and ensure all documentation is up to date and accurate.
- Assist with general administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the practice.
- Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance practice efficiency and organization.
- Help keep the office tidy and well-organized, contributing to a pleasant environment for both patients and staff.
- In some instances, assist with vital signs and rooming patients.
Qualifications:
- Spanish speaking is a plus.
- Certified Medical Assistant Certificate preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional medical administrative training is a plus.
- Previous experience in a medical office or similar environment preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic office software.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a busy office setting.
- Professional demeanor and a commitment to patient confidentiality.
- Creativity and initiative to suggest improvements and contribute to the practice’s success.
