St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center, with over 60 years of providing high-quality early childhood education, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Curriculum Coach to join our team. Rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy, our center fosters a nurturing, inquiry-based learning environment where children of all backgrounds can thrive. As a Curriculum Coach, you will play a key role in supporting and mentoring our early childhood staff, guiding them in best practices for child development, classroom management, and Reggio-inspired educational techniques. You will observe, co-teach, and provide professional development to ensure our team maintains a high standard of care and education for every child.

Status: Full Time
Reports to: Director of Preschool Program
Primary Functions: The Curriculum Coach observes, mentors, and co-teaches with early childhood staff in conjunction with the Director of the Preschool Program. May be appointed Licensing Director in accordance with the Office of Early Childhood and Out of School Learning of the FSSA.
Essential Functions:
- Show respect for children and families of varying cultures.
- Make the safety of all children the top priority.
- Ensure food is never withheld as a punishment.
- Observe/mentor/co-teach 45-60 minutes in each of assigned classrooms, twice per month.
- Guide and support staff, modeling appropriate adult/child interactions, positive behavior, brain development techniques (Applied Educational Neuroscience).
- Observe classroom management, guiding and assisting with challenging behaviors.
- Provide suggestions to teams on enriching classroom environments.
- Guide and support staff in provocations, projects, documentation, and next steps to ensure depth of work.
- Conference with each full-time staff member for 30 minutes, twice per month (1 classroom team meeting per month is also acceptable, as needed, instead of an individual meeting.
- Provide regular monthly meetings part time teaching staff.
- Submit notes weekly to the Director of Preschool to update on individual student and classroom happenings, as well as parent-teacher conferences.
- Help facilitate professional development trainings.
- Perform other duties as necessary to ensure efficient functioning of SMECC.
Position Specifications/Requirements:

Education, Training, And Experience:
- Successfully complete the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Child Safety Training
- Archdiocesan Background screening required
- Complete OECOSL, FSSA licensing requirements: fingerprints, consent to inform, drug test, physical, and annual TB test.
- Have background/education in Early Childhood Education.
- If appointed Licensing Director must be 21 years of age with one of the minimum education requirements as specified by OECOSL of the FSSA.
- - BA or BS in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education with Kindergarten endorsement- BA or BS includes 15 hours of content relating to ages 6 and below.- Current CDA, CCP, or PAC
- An understanding of child development and best practices in Early Childhood Education.
- Knowledge and ability to facilitate the Reggio-inspired early childhood education program.
- Participate in training of staff in AEN (Applied Educational Neuroscience).
- Knowledge of the use of Positive Behavior Techniques.Working Environment:
Work in a classroom, office, and playground setting. While performing the duties of this job, frequent occasional bending, stooping, walking, standing, and lifting 35 pounds are required to lift or carry a child, classroom supplies, etc. The employee will communicate extensively and effectively with staff in one-on-one conversations, classroom team discussions, and written correspondence. Travel between buildings as necessary. Work extended hours occasionally. May include high stress situations.
