What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unit Secretary - NCCU position at St. Mary's Health Care System?
- Position Purpose:
The Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech will work in the NCCU Department at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens GA.
What you will do:
The Unit Secretary supports the assigned unit by facilitating communication with patients, staff, physicians, visitors and ancillary departments. The Unit Secretary directs incoming calls and responds to patient calls. The Unit Secretary enters physician’s orders in the Information System. The Unit Secretary maintains patient’s charts, unit files and secretarial supply levels. The Unit Secretary is responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment. Follows Telemetry Monitoring Policy & Procedures. Reports all abnormal findings to RN immediately. Records strips per policy.
What you will need:
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Minimum of BLS-CPR certified
Education: High school diploma or equivalent, plus education components listed below
Experience:
- Must successfully complete a basic arrhythmia course and receive a passing grade.

Must successfully complete formal ECG class and competencies
- Must complete an annual arrhythmia competency and receive a passing score.
