Position Overview:
St. Mary’s Parish School is seeking a passionate and mission-driven educator to join our faculty as a full-time Grade 6 Classroom Teacher for the 2025–2026 academic year. The primary teaching responsibilities include:
•English Language Arts (Reading & Literature) for Grades 5 and 6
•Social Studies and Religion for Grade 6
•Grade 6 Homeroom leadership and responsibilities
This role collaborates closely with the Grade 5 teacher to ensure a cohesive academic experience for students across both grades.
Key Responsibilities:
•Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction using provided curricular resources in accordance with state and diocesan guidelines
•Integrate a variety of teaching methods and technologies to support diverse learning styles and maximize student engagement
•Assess student progress through a range of formative and summative tools, including tests, writing assignments, projects, and group discussions
•Maintain an organized, respectful, and student-centered classroom environment
•Utilize Google Classroom and other educational platforms effectively to support instruction and communication
•Foster strong relationships with students and families through clear and consistent communication
•Support the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of Grade 6 students
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree required; teaching license or certification strongly preferred
•Prior teaching experience preferred, especially in Intermediate Grades
•Strong classroom management and organizational skills
•Excellent communication skills with both students and parents
•Commitment to Catholic education and the values of faith, service, and academic excellence
