St. Mary’s Preschool has been educating the smallest learners for more than 50 years in the Belle Isle area of Orlando. Our curriculum targets all areas of a child’s development and allows teachers to individualize lessons for their students. A low student to teacher ratio, dedication to each child, and family involvement give our students the foundation to achieve success throughout their school careers. Our preschool plays an integral role in the ministry of St. Mary’s Church and is a celebrated resource within our community.
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 12:30pm.
Salary: $13-$15 an hour
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assists in the implementation of a faith-based learning environment consisting of play-based, hands-on, thematic lessons under the direction of the classroom teacher.
- Assists with preparation of the learning environment indoors and outdoors, setting up and preparing needed materials and supplies.
- Maintains rules of behavior and procedures in regards to class control.
- Ensures the health and safety of the students.
- Demonstrates strong communications skills with parents and coworkers.
- Works collaboratively with Preschool staff.
- Attends all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma, GED, or degree in a related field of study.
- Completion of 45 DCF mandated child care certification hours.
- Must clear a full level II background check and fingerprinting.
- One-two years of experience working with children in a preschool setting is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Warm and friendly personality; be sensitive to the needs of others; and be able to relate well to children.
